ZyXEL NAS Link Capture
ZyXEL NAS Link Capture is a free Chrome add-on developed by Vahan. It creates a right-click context menu that allows users to send links to their ZyXEL home NAS device. This extension brings the functionality of ZyXEL's Download Service, previously available only for Firefox and IE, to Chrome.
With ZyXEL NAS Link Capture, users can easily send links or images to their NAS device without having to download them to their computer first. This means that users can initiate downloads directly to their NAS, even if their computer is turned off. Additionally, users can select text and send it to their NAS, which will attempt to download the selection as if it were a URL.
One interesting feature of this extension is that if a torrent file is sent to the NAS, it will connect to the trackers and download the torrent. While ZyXEL NAS Link Capture has only been tested with the NSA210 model, it may also work with other ZyXEL NAS devices.
To use this extension, users need to enable the "Download Service" on their NAS and provide the NAS's IP address or network name. It's worth noting that users may be prompted to log in to their NAS frequently due to the cookie life expectancy set by ZyXEL.
ZyXEL NAS Link Capture is a useful tool for ZyXEL NAS users who want to streamline their file downloading process. It does not collect or store user data, and any data stored during use is deleted upon uninstallation.
